Working with configurations

Most of the settings regarding selection order and layout can be associated with a named configuration in the database. After saving such a configuration, you will be able to select a particular configuration. Almost all of your selections and layout settings will be applied immediately. The group named "Configuration" is used for selecting a configuration:

The "Select a config (4)" entry of the drop-down-box requests you to select a configuration out of two saved configurations.

Below the configuration drop-down-box four buttons are shown, we describe them from left to right:

Selecting the "Remove config" icon item will remove the currently selected configuration (in the drop-down-box) from the database.

Selecting the "Rename config" icon item will rename the currently selected configuration (in the drop-down-box).

Selecting "Save config as" icon item will save the current set of selections and the current layout. If no particular config has been selected (the drop-down-box shows "Select a config (4)") a dialog will pop up in order to ask you for a configuration name:

Selecting "Reset config" icon item will revert all selections to the state before activating the configuration.

The "Save config as" button can only be used if no configuration has been selected. All three other buttons are deactivated if the underlying action cannot be performed: you have to select a configuration in order to remove, rename or reset it.

Loading a configuration

The group named "Configuration" in the selection area shows you a drop-down-box containing all known (saved) configurations. Selecting one of the items will immediately apply the saved layout settings (for the sidebar, tree view and selections). Here the "HTTP:arm4sdk.org" configuration is selected:

All selection and filtering groups are disabled since this is a predefined configuration which cannot be changed. To reset the configuration you have to click the "Reset config" button. The screenshot shows that there are 2053 measurements from 19th until 20th of October 2012. Within this time interval 2024 "HTTP" measurements are stored in the database. 1897 out of those 2024 measurements are from the arm4sdk.org host.
